Why You Should Get Glasses, Even as a Backup
Jun 26th 2017
If your eyesight is such that it requires the use of lenses or glasses, it is well-worth considering glasses. Contact lenses have served people well and plenty of people choose them over glasses. However, glasses still have their benefits. If you like your contact lenses, consider these reasons for getting a pair of backup glasses.
Lenses dry, become blurry, and itchy.
Lenses are great, until they’re worn too long. All lenses have to be replaced after a certain amount of time because they don’t last as long as your prescription. After a while of wearing them, even just a few hours, your eyes can become dry, as can the lenses. They may itch and blur, too. You may find yourself using drops, or being forced to take them out and let them soak. These things are common, and take some of the convenience out of contacts. Glasses are a great backup option. Even if you are generally satisfied with your contacts, they are still worth the small investment for those times when your contacts are bothering you. Wear them while your contacts soak, and then put your contacts back in when you’re ready. That way, you’ll never be without comfortable, better eyesight.
Lenses run out.
Because contact lenses are temporary, you will run out. If you’re particularly good at keeping up with your need and reordering, this may not be a significant problem. But, unforeseeable things happen. Lenses can be lost, become unwearable and need to be thrown away, money can be tight, and deliveries can be late and fail. All of these things can prevent you from getting new contacts when you need them. If you have a pair of backup glasses, this problem is solved.
Contact lenses are great for many, but they’re not for everyone. Even if you love your contacts, take a look at your options for glasses. They can serve as a great backup. Come see what we have at Speert.
