When You Have Trouble with Your Optometrist

Sometimes, it’s frustrating getting prescriptions. Even if you generally like your physician, it can be a hassle to find the time to make an appointment, set that appointment at a good time for both you and your doctor, get to the appointment, and everything else involved. Of course, there is always the possibility that something else could go wrong, like a problem with your optometrist.
Find the Right Doctor
When you find a physician, it’s important to find one with whom you have a rapport. This includes optometrists. If you’re uncomfortable with your eye doctor, it does not necessarily mean that either of you has done something wrong. It could be that you simply don’t connect with that doctor well enough to feel comfortable discussing your potential problems with him or her.
Of course, it is not unheard of to have a visit with a doctor who is less than pleasant. Perhaps you met that person on a bad day. Or, he or she may simply be an unpleasant person.
Whatever the circumstance, it is your right to seek out someone with whom you are more comfortable. It is also a good idea to do so soon. You should always have a good optometrist on hand for eye problems so that you’re not searching after your prescription has expired and you’re in need of glasses immediately. It could prolong your time without your contacts or glasses.
It could also result in you prolonging any medical issue you might have. The longer you have an infection, or go without seeing your doctor for a checkup, the more at risk you are of worse symptoms, or catching a serious problem.
